Why one plan

Most people want the same three things from a breathing timer once it has become a habit: to keep the habit, to make the timer feel like their own, and to be left alone while they breathe. Splitting those across tiers means explaining the split instead of the product, so there is one plan and everything is in it.

Someone arriving here at three in the morning because they cannot sleep, or in the middle of a panic attack, still gets a working timer and nothing else. The plan is for the people who come back.

How the trial works

Start it

Sign in with an email link or a Google account, pick monthly or yearly, and enter a card at checkout. Nothing is charged today.

Use everything for three days

The whole plan is open from the first minute: your patterns, your history, the soundscapes, night mode, offline use. Nothing is held back for later.

Decide

On day three the card is charged for the plan you chose, unless you have cancelled. Cancelling is two clicks on your account page, at any point during the trial, and you are told the exact date and amount before you start.

One free trial per person. If you have had one before, checkout opens without a trial and says so plainly rather than pretending otherwise.

What you pay, and who charges it

$10 a month and $100 a year are the US list prices. Stripe, as merchant of record, works out the total for your country, in your currency, with any VAT or sales tax included, and shows it on the checkout page before you pay. The amount that is actually charged is then shown on your account page, taken from your receipt rather than typed by us.

The seller on your receipt is Stripe, acting as merchant of record: the contract of sale is between you and Stripe, and the service is provided by Georges Rayess. No card number, expiry date or security code ever reaches this site. The terms of service spell out who does what.

What the alternatives cost

These are the prices we could verify ourselves, read from each app's own US App Store listing on 9 September 2026. Prices change and vary by country, so treat them as a snapshot rather than a promise, and check before you buy anything.

App Price Shape of the deal
Help Me Breathe $10 monthly, $100 yearly One plan, everything included, three days free. Three sessions run before you are asked for anything; the written pages and the crisis pages stay free for everyone.
Headspace $12.99 monthly, $69.99 annually A meditation library with breathing exercises inside it. Subscription only.
Calm $14.99 monthly, $69.99 annually A sleep and relaxation catalogue. Subscription only.
Othership $17.99 monthly, $129.99 yearly Guided breathwork sessions. Subscription only.
Breathwrk $9.00 for the one purchase labelled monthly A dedicated breathing app, sold by Peloton Interactive, Inc. Its listing shows ten in-app purchases between $1.99 and $69.99, and only one of them ("Breathwrk Premium 900 Monthly", $9.00) names a billing period, so the rest are unverified and we are not guessing at them.

The point of that table is not that the others are overpriced. Headspace and Calm sell a library of produced sessions and a curriculum, which a pacing circle cannot be, and for some people that is worth the money. The point is that you can see the whole price here, that your first three sessions and every written page cost nothing, and that the pages for anxious moments and panic attacks run the timer for anyone, always.

The refund promise

Fourteen days, unconditional. Email contact@helpmebreath.com within fourteen days of a charge and the money goes back to the card you paid with, with no reason required and no attempt to talk you out of it. Refunds are issued by Stripe, the merchant of record, that took the payment. A cancelled trial is not a refund: nothing was charged, so there is nothing to give back. The rest of the small print is in the refund policy and the terms of service.

Common questions

What is free?

Every written page: the technique guides, the articles and the pages for anxious moments and panic attacks, which run the full timer for anyone, always. The first three sessions on a device run before you are asked for anything. After that the timer is part of the plan, with an account and a card, three days free, then $10 a month or $100 a year. The plan covers the timer with every technique and session length, the audio and vibration cues, offline use and the tools around the practice listed on this page.

How does the free trial work?

The trial lasts three days from the moment you start it. A payment card is required to begin and is not charged during the trial. When the three days end, the card is charged the price shown at checkout, $10 for the monthly plan or $100 for the yearly plan in US dollars plus any tax due in your country, and the subscription begins, unless you cancel first. Cancelling during the trial takes two clicks from your account page. One free trial per person.

Do I need an account?

For the plan, yes. You sign in with a link sent to your email or with a Google account; there is no password to remember. The account holds your plan so it follows you between your phone, tablet and laptop, and it stores only your email address, the sign-in method, the plan and its dates. Your practice history stays in your browser unless you export it.

Can I cancel?

Any time, from your account page, in two clicks. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. There is no cancellation fee and no one will email you to talk you out of it.

Is there a refund?

Fourteen days, unconditional. Email contact@helpmebreath.com within fourteen days of a charge and the money goes back to the card you paid with. No reason required, and no follow-up questions.

Monthly or yearly?

They include exactly the same things. Yearly costs $100 against $120 for twelve monthly payments, so it is two months free for anyone who already knows they will keep the habit. If you start monthly you can switch to yearly from your account at any time, and the months you have already paid are credited.

Why is the price on the card different from $10?

$10 a month and $100 a year are the US list prices. Stripe, as merchant of record, works out the total for your country, in your currency, with any VAT or sales tax included, and shows it on the checkout page before you pay. The card on this page shows the US list price with a note that tax is added at checkout.

What if your payment provider disappears?

Payments are handled by Stripe as merchant of record, and providers do sometimes close accounts or exit markets. Your plan is honoured for the period you have paid for whatever happens to the provider, and if one has to be replaced you are moved to the replacement at no cost. Email contact@helpmebreath.com with the address you signed in with.

A note on what this is

This is a timer and a set of tools for a breathing practice. Nothing here is medical care and none of it replaces treatment, a clinician or a crisis line. Some breathing patterns are not suitable for everyone; breath holds and fast breathing in particular carry real contraindications, which are written on each technique's own page. Read the medical disclaimer before you start, and the privacy policy if you want to know exactly what is stored.
